About us

Designer Whitney Andresen

Some girls love shoes, some love bags, but for Whitney Andresen it’s always been bathing suits. Whitney comes from a family of boat captains and fisherman. She grew up on Cape Cod and the island of Martha’s Vineyard, surrounded by the ocean. As a child she spent summer days running around the island, listening to reggae music, collecting sea glass, and fishing off docks and boats with her dad, Spider. Jumping from land to sea all day, everyday, she always had a bathing suit in tow.  It was her uniform of choice. It was this upbringing and the tapestry of colors, patterns, vibrations and people she experienced in her vast travels to beaches and cultures all over the world, her experience living in New York City, and now Venice Beach, CA that influence her swimwear designs.

Our Mission

Our passion here at Bikini Thief really is women. We want to be a positive influence on women, which can be tough in the fashion industry. Starting in 2014 all our swimwear will be lined with words of inspiration to women. We want it to be the last thing you see before you throw on your swimsuit and head out on an adventure. You are unique. You are Beautiful. You are one of a kind. In addition, we do and will continue to partner and support organizations in the local and far reaching communities that provide support and give back to girls and women in a variety of ways.

Bikini Thief is also proud to be 100% made in Pasadena, CA, in the USA. We are patriots who believes it’s important, as a company, to help provide jobs and keep our dollars here in the U.S economy. The swimwear made in the USA is the best quality possible, and therefore slightly more expensive to make. We want every woman to be able to afford a Bikini Thief swimsuit which is why we keep the cost of our suits as low as possible for USA made quality.
